Strategy engine

A plain definition, why it matters, how strategy1 uses it, and answers to the questions people ask most.

Definition

What is a strategy engine?

A strategy1 engine is a repeatable pod of strategists, AI agents with guardrails and a red team that produces one family of strategy deliverables. Each engine also runs calculation code strategy1 tests itself, works from the client's Strategy Twin and follows the S1 Method, so the work is done the same way every time. strategy1 has eight engines.

Also called: strategy1 engine, engine.

Context

Why it matters

Repeatable work can be checked, measured and improved; one-off projects are hard to compare. An engine keeps the method, the agents' guardrails and the calculation code the same on every run, so outputs are comparable and the time taken can be measured against a baseline.

In practice

How strategy1 uses it

The eight engines are LaunchEngine, BrandEngine, CapitalEngine, EventEngine, AssetEngine, DealEngine, MarketEngine and ScenarioEngine. Each covers a set of strategy types, every engine runs the S1 Method, and clients can start one through a Bootcamp, an Engine Sprint or retainer engine credits.

FAQ

Strategy engine: common questions

Which strategy engine covers go-to-market strategy?

LaunchEngine covers launch and go-to-market strategy. Other engines cover brand, naming and narrative (BrandEngine), investment strategy and IPO readiness (CapitalEngine), event strategy (EventEngine), infrastructure blueprints (AssetEngine), M&A screening (DealEngine), market entry and pricing (MarketEngine), and scenarios and risk (ScenarioEngine).

Is a strategy engine a software product?

Not on its own. A strategy engine combines people and software: a strategist pod, AI agents with guardrails, tested calculation code and a red team. Strategists run the engine, and named people sign its conclusions.

What do all eight strategy engines have in common?

Every engine runs the same eight agent types, each with a guardrail, follows the S1 Method's six stages and three human gates, and works from the client's Strategy Twin with every figure in the evidence ledger.
